Foreign Minister and UN Envoy Discuss Regional Developments, Efforts to End Conflict

Muscat: Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, received Jan Arno, Personal Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General for the Middle East conflict, to discuss regional developments and efforts towards ending the ongoing conflict. According to Oman News Agency, the meeting focused on the situation in the Middle East, particularly the repercussions of the Israeli-American war on Iran and the ongoing ceasefire. The discussion emphasized efforts to find solutions capable of bringing a definitive end to the conflict across all political, security, economic, and humanitarian dimensions. Sayyid Badr reiterated the Sultanate of Oman's support for UN-led efforts that prioritize peaceful and diplomatic solutions. He highlighted the importance of creating favorable conditions for regional dialogue among all parties, contributing to de-escalation and confidence-building, and restoring security and stability to the region. The UN Envoy expressed appreciation for Oman's constructive role and its historical e xperience in supporting peace initiatives and mediation efforts. He commended Oman for its approach rooted in dialogue and reconciliation of divergent viewpoints. The meeting was attended by Ambassador-at-Large Sheikh Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Hinai and several officials from both sides.
