Cairo, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Philippe Lazzarini, United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), on the sidelines of the 162nd session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level. The meeting discussed the services provided by UNRWA to Palestinian refugees amidst the current regional conditions and the challenges facing the agency. Discussions also covered the ongoing efforts by UNRWA to deliver humanitarian aid to the residents of the Gaza Strip. The meeting further addressed the exchange of views on the humanitarian situation in the strip, as well as Arab and international efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire, protecting civilians, releasing hostages and detainees, and ensuring the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid to the civilian population.
