Forum on Role of Economic Sectors in Localizing Job Opportunities Begins.

Muscat: Activities of the forum on ‘The Role of the Economic Sectors in Localizing Job Opportunities and Local Added Value’ began at the Oil and Gas Institute today. The event is organized by the Ministry of Labour in cooperation with the National Employment Program (NPE).

According to Oman News Agency, Khalid Salim Al Ghamari, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Labour, stated that the forum is part of the Ministry’s efforts to achieve economic integration between development sectors and enhance job opportunities for citizens. He emphasized that the “Tawteen” platform is designed to improve the work environment and develop national competencies to meet the needs of different sectors. Al Ghamari also highlighted the importance of companies’ commitment to registering on the platform to ensure transparency and efficiency in employment processes.

The first day of the forum addressed key issues and challenges in localizing job opportunities and local added value. It focused on strategies to boost natio
nal workforce participation and reviewed efforts to encourage companies to utilize the “Tawteen” platform.

The forum’s activities also included working sessions on the significance of employment governance committees in economic sectors. These sessions underscored the committees’ crucial role in coordinating public and private sector efforts to meet labor market requirements.

The forum seeks to strengthen partnerships between various economic sectors and emphasizes the importance of activating the ‘Tawteen’ platform to regulate the labor market. It aims to introduce companies to the platform’s features and registration mechanisms.
