The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip confirmed on Friday that supplies for the polio vaccination campaign have begun entering the Strip, stressing the need for a ceasefire to ensure the success of the campaign. The ministry explained in its statement that the current conditions, including the lack of clean water, personal hygiene supplies, and the spread of sewage among the tents of the displaced, hinder the effectiveness of the vaccination campaign. It stressed that this campaign will not be effective if there is no suitable health environment, which makes it necessary to cease fire to make it successful and protect children from the risk of polio. The Ministry of Health concluded its statement by calling on all concerned parties to intervene immediately to stop the escalation, in order to create the appropriate conditions for the success of the vaccination campaign and to ensure the safety of children in the sector.
