Manama, Dr. Mariam Adhbi Al Jalahma, Chief Executive Officer of Government Hospitals, announced the complete elimination of waiting lists for cochlear implant surgeries at Salmaniya Medical Complex this August, following the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. This milestone represents a significant advancement in the Kingdom's healthcare system, ensuring quicker access to essential medical procedures. Dr. Al Jalahma expressed her gratitude for the support of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, whose commitment to enhancing the healthcare sector has led to this achievement. She highlighted that this progress will significantly benefit citizens and residents, particularly those in need of crucial surgeries like cochlear implants, which can dramatically improve their quality of life. Since the beginning of 2024, 23 cochlear implant surgeries have been successfully completed, bringing the total to 373 since the programme began.
