Muscat: The first edition of the Muscat Prix Athletics competitions, organized by the Oman Athletics Association, commenced at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher, Muscat governorate, on 5 September 2026. According to Oman News Agency, male and female athletes from over 50 countries are participating in the competitions, which encompass 31 sports events. The Muscat Grand Prix competitions are part of the World Athletics Continental Tour (Bronze Level), running concurrently with the International Challenge Tour. These events provide athletes with ranking points and opportunities to qualify for major championships. Athletes from Oman's national team delivered strong performances, achieving several top positions.
