Gaza: Hamas announced on Saturday that it had begun consultations to choose a new leader after the assassination of the movement's political bureau chief, Ismail Haniyeh, in the Iranian capital, Tehran. Hamas said in a statement: "The movement's leadership has begun a broad consultation process in its leadership and Shura institutions to choose a new president for the movement."
