Manama, Dr. Samia Ali Bahram, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health and chairperson of the national health survey committee at the Ministry of Health, confirmed the ministry's readiness, in coordination with the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) and Primary Healthcare Centres, to begin the pilot phase of the national health survey, scheduled to launch in the last quarter of this year ahead of the full-scale national survey. Bahram explained that the national health survey aims to continue gathering data on Bahrain's health status and enhance the database to support health plans and policies that advance the healthcare system. She noted that the Ministry has conducted its first specialised training course for researchers participating in the survey over four days at the Public Health Directorate. The training is part of the preparatory phase to equip researchers with the necessary tools and techniques for accurate data collection and analysis. The training included interactive lectures and w orkshops on effective communication with participants, survey questions, and forms, aiming to enhance the researchers' skills in field surveys and health data collection. It also focused on improving their capabilities in managing surveys, statistical analysis, and drawing conclusions. On her part, Duaa Sultan Mohamed Al Harban, Deputy Chief Executive for Statistics and Population Registry at iGA, emphasised the importance of the surveys conducted by the authority in collaboration with government entities. She highlighted that such surveys are vital tools in providing decision-makers with accurate data across sectors, noting the significance of the National Health Survey as part of the series of surveys launched by iGA this year.
