Doha, Dr. Lulwa Rashid Showaiter, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, participated in the 71st session of the World Health Organizations (WHO) Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean, held under the theme "Health Beyond Borders: Action, Access, Equity in the Eastern Mediterranean Region." During the meeting, regional delegations discussed critical health issues, including the strategic action plan for 2025-2028, improving access to medical products, investing in healthcare workers, and enhancing health information systems. Participants also reviewed ongoing emergency situations in the region and explored ways to strengthen cooperation in tackling health challenges across countries. The session concluded with key recommendations aimed at boosting the region's ability to meet global health challenges and achieve sustainable development through stronger health systems and greater regional cooperation.
