Moscow: Moscow and its suburbs have been hit by heavy rains since the early morning hours today, flooding some streets and pedestrian tunnels. According to Oman News Agency, meteorologists indicated that the effects of the heavy rains and thunderstorms may continue in Moscow and its suburbs until this afternoon, with the possibility of renewed heavy rainfall in the city tomorrow. The water level reached about 30 cm, disrupting traffic in several areas. The effects of heavy rains extended to underground pedestrian tunnels, which were flooded in several areas of Moscow. Weather experts expect Moscow and its suburbs to receive rainfall equivalent to approximately 40 percent of the monthly average for today alone. They warned of the dangers of driving in these conditions and emphasized the importance of avoiding open areas in case of lightning strikes.
