Hebron Chamber and Plastic Industries Union discuss Hebron Governorate situation with Civil Affairs

Al-Khalil-Ma'an- In light of the continued tight siege imposed by the occupation authorities on the Hebron Governorate, and with the aim of reducing its effects on social and economic life, the head of the Plastic Industries Union and member of the Board of Directors of the Hebron Chamber, Kamel Al-Zeer Al-Husseini, and the economic advisor and member of the Board of Directors of the Chamber, Ahmed Hassouna, held a meeting with the Director General of the Palestinian Civil Affairs Authority in Hebron, Musa Haroun, in the presence of the directorate's employees. Al-Husseini and Hassouna provided a detailed explanation of the effects of the blockade on various economic sectors, especially the livestock production sector, and the difficulty of transporting goods from industrial and commercial facilities between cities and towns in the Hebron Governorate and other Palestinian governorates. Al-Husseini spoke about the difficulties facing the various industrial sectors and the consequences resulting from the cont inuation of the siege, and its impact on the economic wheel, pointing out that some factories are threatened with stopping work if the siege continues, due to their inability to obtain the raw materials used in their manufacture, and the same applies to raising birds, poultry and cows. He demanded that the Palestinian Civil Affairs Department exert pressure on the Israeli side to lift the siege imposed on the Hebron Governorate and other Palestinian governorates. For his part, Hassouna stressed that this meeting comes within the framework of the important meetings held by the Hebron Chamber in cooperation with the Plastic Industries Union, with the relevant authorities in the government and the Palestinian National Authority, to inform them of what is happening on the ground, stressing the importance of the combined efforts of the institutions and the integration of work between them to reduce the effects resulting from the Israeli siege. During the meeting, they also called for the need to pressure the Isr aeli side to ease the measures imposed on citizens in the closed and besieged areas by the occupation authorities in the Hebron Governorate, and to restore life to what it was before October 7. For his part, Haroun thanked Al-Husseini and Hassouna for this timely visit, which aimed to hear from them about the impact of the siege on the economic and social situation in the Hebron Governorate, appreciating their efforts in communicating and networking with relevant institutions, and stressing that the Civil Affairs Authority is closely following developments on the ground and is working hard to mitigate their effects. During the meeting, the importance of continuing to hold such meetings was emphasized to convey the situation and requests of the various economic sectors to the competent authorities and work to resolve them.
