Muscat: HH Sayyid Asa'ad bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan, departed for Malaysia today. He will be representing the Sultanate of Oman at the GCC-ASEAN Summit and the GCC-ASEAN-China Summit, on behalf of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. Both summits are set to take place tomorrow in Kuala Lumpur.
According to Oman News Agency, the meetings aim to enhance strategic cooperation between the GCC, ASEAN, and China. The discussions will focus on economic, investment, political, and cultural collaboration. Participants will also review key issues and developments of mutual interest.
HH Sayyid Asa'ad is joined by an official delegation, including Dr. Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, Eng. Said Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, and Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy. Other members include Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, Sheikh Al Abbas Ibrahim Al Harthy, Ambassador of Oman to Malaysia, Sheikh Khalifa Hamad Al Badi, Secretary General at the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, and Saif Ahmed Al Sawafi, Advisor at the office of the Deputy Prime Minister.
