HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers today received Karam Gabr Head of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation (SCMR) of the Arab Republic of Egypt. At the outset of the meeting, the Head of the SCMR conveyed the Egyptian leadership's greetings to the Omani leadership. He also conveyed his country's best wishes of further progress and prosperity to the Omani people. HH Sayyid Fahd underscored the government's support for the Omani media in pursuance of the media's constructive role in the march of sustainable development. He also lauded Omani media persons and the efforts they exert in media coverages that are based on integrity. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations and explored means of enhancing media cooperation in various fields, particularly in exchanging expertise and visits of media persons. They also highlighted current issues on the regional arena and the efforts exerted to put an end to violations in a bid to have secur ity and stability prevail in the region. On his turn, the Egyptian official lauded the wise and balanced policy espoused by the Sultanate of Oman and its role in backing efforts of understanding and constructive dialogue among nations. This policy granted Oman the respect and appreciation of all, he affirmed. He also underlined the importance of the consultations he conducted with officials in Oman, which reflect positively on bilateral relations. The meeting was attended by Dr. Abdullah Nasser Al Harrasi, Minister of Information and Khalid Abdul Halim Radi, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Sultanate of Oman.
