Washington, Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander, met with Dr Celeste Wallander, the Assistant Secretary of Defence for International Security Affairs in the Office of the Secretary of Defence at the US Department of Defense. HH Shaikh Nasser expressed Bahrain's pride in the historical relations and strategic partnership with the United States of America over many decades, which is based on trust, cooperation and joint coordination as partners and allies in many key areas, including military and defence, and the pursuit of peace and stability. During the meeting, His Highness and Dr Wallander discussed Bahraini-US relations and the means to advance the close bilateral cooperation between the two countries in key areas, in addition to the outcomes of the meetings of the Defence Working Group (DWG) of the Comprehensive Security and Prosperity Integration Agreement (C-SIPA) between Bahrain and the US. The meeting also revie wed regional and international topics of mutual interest. Dr Wallander expressed her country's appreciation for the close relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain and its efforts to further strengthen military and defence cooperation.
