Manama, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, today received senior officials of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) at Al Sakhir Palace. The senior officials included Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the BDF, His Highness Lieutenant-General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the National Security Advisor and loyal Guard Commander, His Highness Colonel Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Royal Guard Special Force Commander, Lieutenant General Theyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Chief of Staff of BDF, and officers. His Majesty was briefed on the plans to develop and modernise the weapons and units of the BDF. His Majesty expressed pride in the BDF and its servicemen for their courage and dedicated efforts. His Majesty thanked them for their sincere efforts to protect the progress that the people of Bahrain have achieved through their solidarity and cooperation. His Majesty highlighted the role played by the BDF in cooperation wi th ally countries to secure freedom of maritime navigation in the region, thereby maintaining the flow of global trade.
