Manama, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, received Steven Bondy, the US Ambassador to Bahrain and Vice Admiral George Wikoff, Commander of the US Naval Forces Central Command, Commander of the US Fifth Fleet. HM the King underscored the strength of the historical Bahrain-US relations, underpinned by mutual trust, respect and coordination. He lauded the progress of bilateral cooperation, particularly in military and defence, to achieve the interests of both countries and protect navigation and trade in the region. The meeting discussed regional and international developments, particularly the escalation of events in the region. The ambassador and the US Commander expressed their gratitude to HM the King for his role in consolidating the historical friendship ties and enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
