Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik today issued Royal Decree No. (48/2026) on appointing a Non-resident Ambassador. Article (1) of the decree appoints Abdul Ghaffar bin Abdul Karim bin Issa Al Balushi, the Sultanate of Oman's Ambassador to the Federative Republic of Brazil, as Oman's non-resident Ambassador to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the Republic of Paraguay, the Republic of Ecuador, and the Republic of Chile.
According to Oman News Agency, Article (2) states that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced from its date of issue. The appointment of Abdul Ghaffar Al Balushi extends Oman's diplomatic reach in South America, enhancing bilateral relations with these nations.
