Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander, today presided over a grand military parade held at Al Sumoud Ground of the Sultan's Special Force in celebration of the 54th Glorious National Day. The parade featured symbolic units from various branches, including the Royal Army of Oman (RAO), Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), Royal Navy of Oman (RNO), Royal Guard of Oman (RGO), Sultan's Special Force (SSF), and the Royal Oman Police (ROP). Additionally, both ground and mounted military music bands contributed to the event. According to Oman News Agency, upon the arrival of His Majesty the Sultan at the parade ground, he was welcomed by HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu'amani, Minister of the Royal Office, Vice Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis Al Ra'eesi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF), and Maj. Gen Musallam bin Mohammed Jaaboub, Commander of the Sultan's Special Force (SSF). As His Majesty ascended the Royal Dais, the parade columns performed a military salute, while the joint corps of military bands played the Royal Anthem. To honor His Majesty, the Sultan of Oman's Artillery delivered a 21-gun salute. Following this, the parade commander approached the Royal Dais to request His Majesty to signal the commencement of the military parade. The Protocols Guard then joined the parade with ceremonial gestures, accompanied by melodies from the joint corps of military music bands, while performing a military salute to His Majesty, the Supreme Commander. The event also featured a musical show by mounted bands from the RGO cavalry and the Royal Cavalry, who passed the Royal Dais and performed a military salute. The parade culminated in a series of cheers proclaiming 'Faith in Allah, Loyalty to the Sultan, Sacrifice for the Nation', followed by chants of 'Long Live His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander'. The joint corps of military music bands played the Royal Anthem as the parade conclude d with a military salute. The prestigious event was attended by members of the Royal family, sayyids of the Al Busaidi family, ministers, advisers, SAF commanders, military and security service commanders, heads of diplomatic missions from Arab and foreign countries accredited to Oman, members of the State Council and Shura Council, undersecretaries, senior military and security officers, retired officers, and citizens.
