Cairo, Amna bint Ahmed Al Romaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, met with Sherif El Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, on the sidelines of the 89th meeting of the Executive Bureau of the Arab Ministers of Housing and Urban Development Council, held in Egypt. The two sides discussed strengthening cooperation between Bahrain and Egypt, particularly in housing and urban planning, which are key areas of government focus in both nations. Minister Al Rumaihi Highlighted Bahrain's progress in housing, which encompassed successful public-private partnerships, including the housing finance programme, which has expanded financing options for citizens, and the rapidly growing Government Land Development Rights initiative in collaboration with local developers. The meeting also reviewed Egypt's preparations for the upcoming 12th World Urban Forum (WUF12), organised with the UN-Habitat, which will focus on aligning efforts towards the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Minister Al Rumaihi underscored Egypt's pivotal role in hosting the event.
