A two-day forum on psychological safety and mental health in the work environment kicked off in Salalah today. The forum is organized by the Ministry of Labour in cooperation with the Omani Society for Human Resources Management (OSHRM). The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of HH Sayyid Marwan Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar. The forum aims to raise public awareness about the importance of psychological safety and mental health in the workplace and provide a platform for exchanging knowledge and expertise on how to apply new techniques to support workers in dealing with psychological challenges. Through working papers and discussion panels, the forum explores basics of psychological safety in the work environment, related challenges, as well as the process of managing employee performance, online work and its impact on employee well-being. The forum also discusses the role of leadership in inspiring a healthy work environment for employees and the significance of psychological safety on job satisfaction and an institution's productivity.
