Manama, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister sent a cable of congratulations to the President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on the declaration of July 18 as " Union Pledge Day." This day commemorates the historic meeting in 1971 where UAE founder, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and other Emirates rulers, signed the Declaration of the Union and the UAE Constitution while announcing the official name of the United Arab Emirates. His Royal Highness sent similar cables to the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of the Presidential Court of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
