Muscat: The joint Oman-Pakistan military exercise 'Washaq Al Jabal 1' or 'Mountain Lynx 1' began today at the military training area in Al Jabal Al Akhdar. The drill is carried out by the Royal Army of Oman (RAO), units from the army of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO). According to Oman News Agency, the drill, which runs till 21 October 2024, includes a range of military obstacles and joint training activities. Moreover, the drill aims to sustain combat and operational preparedness of ROA personnel, as well as exchange expertise with friendly countries. The activities of the exercise were attended by several senior officers from both sides.
