Jordan’s King Abdullah II meets Lebanese PM Mikati in Amman: Jordan is making every effort to stop the Israeli war on Lebanon

Jordan's King Abdullah II on Monday met with Caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, at Al-Husseiniya Palace in Amman. Discussions reportedly touched on the current situation in Lebanon and the Israeli aggression on the south. The meeting was attended by Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, and the Director of King Abdullah's Office Eng. Alaa Batayneh. During the meeting, King Abdullah affirmed "Jordan's absolute support for Lebanon and its brotherly people, and its support for its sovereignty, security and stability." King Abdullah also stressed "the Kingdom's readiness to provide assistance to the Lebanese brothers, to alleviate their suffering as a result of the ongoing war." "Jordan is making every effort in coordination with Arab brothers and influential countries to stop the Israeli war on Lebanon," King Abdullah said. He also warned "against the continuation and expansion of the Israeli aggression on Lebanon, w hich will push the region into a regional war that will be very costly for everyone." In turn, Premier Mikati expressed his "appreciation to His Majesty the King for Jordan's standing by Lebanon at all stages, especially its efforts to stop the Israeli aggression against Lebanon and its people." Mikati also appreciated "the support provided by the Kingdom through the air bridge between Amman and Beirut to provide relief to those displaced by the Israeli war on Lebanon."
