Labour Ministry and OneSupply Oman Partner to Train Jobseekers

Muscat:The Ministry of Labour has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with OneSupply Oman, a subsidiary of OQ's Energy Oman company, to deliver training for 160 Omani jobseekers through the "Isnad" programme. Additionally, OneSupply Oman has signed an agreement with the National University of Science and Technology to develop and execute the training initiative.

According to Oman News Agency, the programme is part of national efforts to boost sustainable employment and empower local talent. It illustrates the collaboration between the public and private sectors in building a skilled national workforce that aligns with labour market demands, while also preparing Omani youth for roles in the supply chain and logistics sector, which is crucial for supporting economic diversification in Oman.

The MoU was signed by Khalid bin Salim Al Ghammari, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Labour Affairs, and Mazin bin Rashid Al Lamki, CEO of Energy Oman. The agreement with the National University of Science and Technology was signed by Dr. Ali bin Saud Al Bimani, the university's Vice-Chancellor.

The training programme aims to assess the sector's needs, identify available job opportunities, and specify the necessary technical skills. This initiative underscores Energy Oman's commitment to national development and enhancing In-Country Value by leveraging Omani human resources and equipping them with the required skills and experience to foster a more competitive and sustainable economy.
