In a statement issued on Thursday, the Lebanese Forces' media office said: "We chose silence during this difficult time, despite repeatedly warning about the current tragic reality. Instead of responding positively, the opposition continues its campaigns to justify the country's downfall." Moreover, the statement refuted claims that the opposition is delaying the presidential election, noting that "the Lebanese Forces attended all sessions and are ready to participate in any called by Parliament." 'The Lebanese Forces remain committed to electing a president, and accusations otherwise are false and distort the truth for known purposes,' the statement concluded.
