Madayn Hosts First Awareness Forum on Institutional Integrity

Muscat: Acting in cooperation with the State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority, the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) is organizing the first awareness forum on institutional integrity. The two-day event, which began today, aims to familiarize participants with legislation and regulations related to the protection of public funds.

According to Oman News Agency, the forum elaborates on ways to support institutional practices that contribute to upgrading the efficiency of performance, the better use of resources, the avoidance of conflict of interest, and integration between the State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority and internal audit units. It also focuses on establishing a work environment based on responsibility, commitment, and institutional discipline in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.

The first day of the forum included working papers discussing the role of transparency in protecting public funds, job rights and responsibilities, and an analysis of the 'Law on Protecting Public Funds and Avoidance of Conflict of Interest'. Tomorrow, additional working papers will focus on integration between the State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority and internal audit units, as well as procedures for filing complaints and reports.

Through this forum, Madayn aims to raise public awareness about the role of transparency in boosting integrity and enhancing accountability, in addition to protecting public funds and promoting other institutional practices.
