Muscat: The main committee of 'Muscat International Book Fair 2025' today held its first preparatory meeting under the auspices of Dr. Abdullah Nasser Al Harrasi, Minister of Information, Chairman of the Committee. The committee reviewed the cultural events scheduled to be held on the sidelines of the 29th edition of the book, which will take place from 23 April to 3 May 2025. According to Oman News Agency, the panel focused on ensuring the quality and diversity of the events to help meet the aspirations of the book fair visitors. It laid emphasis on attracting prominent literary scholars, intelligentsia, and media celebrities from the Arab region and the world at large. The committee also discussed mechanisms for highlighting North A'Sharqiyah Governorate, the Guest of Honour of the book fair, by showcasing the governorate's historical and cultural features, as well as its investment and tourism resources. The meeting looked into statistical reports about the previous editions of the book fair, in addition to proposed dates for Muscat International Book Fair for the next five years: 2026-2030 and means of addressing the expected challenges.
