Muscat: The Main Committee of the Muscat International Book Fair convened its initial preparatory meeting in anticipation of the forthcoming edition. The session was presided over by Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al Harrasi, Minister of Information and Chairman of the Committee. According to Oman News Agency, the meeting focused on evaluating the general report from the previous edition of the Fair. The Committee reviewed the recommendations and proposals outlined in related statistical reports to enhance the event's future iterations. The discussion also centered on initial preparations and proposals for the 30th edition of the Fair, scheduled from 26 March to 5 April 2026. The Committee deliberated on various aspects, including the participation of the Al Wusta Governorate as the Guest of Honour. This participation aims to showcase the governorate's civilizational, historical, cultural, investment, and tourism features. Additionally, the meeting addressed the cultural program planned for the upcoming edition, which will feature seminars, lectures, cultural and literary evenings, artistic events, and activities designed for children.
