Kentucky: Heavy floods swept across the US states of Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, and Arkansas, with the US National Weather Service issuing warnings to avoid travel on the roads. Meanwhile, the northeastern states and the plains are preparing for snowstorms and a sharp drop in temperatures. According to Oman News Agency, local authorities in Kentucky reported that emergency teams found the body of a man in the floodwaters in Clay County. Landslides closed several roads in Virginia. Kentucky declared a state of emergency, confirming the deployment of rescue teams to the most affected areas in anticipation of rising water levels. In West Virginia, a state of emergency was declared in ten southern counties due to heavy rain and flooding, allowing the state to utilize its resources to support local relief efforts. In a related development, the US National Weather Service warned of a strong snowstorm in the northeast, with heavy snow of over 30 centimeters expected in northern New York and parts of New Engla nd, along with strong winds and ice buildup that could lead to fallen trees and power outages. Meanwhile, landslides occurred due to heavy rainfall in California, as water carried rocks and mud in the Sierra Madre area, trapping cars and causing damage to several homes. In the Sierra Nevada mountains, a snowstorm resulted in an accumulation of about 1.8 meters of snow within 36 hours, leading to an avalanche in which two rescue workers were injured at the Mammoth Mountain ski resort.
