Caretaker Minister of Information, Ziad Makary, contacted on Saturday Amal Al-Khalil, a media professional who works at Al-Akhbar newspaper, inquiring about the circumstances of the threatening letter she received from an Israeli source over the phone. Expressing his solidarity with al-Khalil in the face of 'intellectual terrorism and psychological warfare, which Israel is accustomed to applying every now and then,' Makary stressed that 'the immunity of the press will not be weakened by a threat from here or a message from there, and this method is nothing but evidence that Israel refuses to abide by international covenants, conventions and laws that protects journalists and patronizes their work.' He considered that "a free and bold word remains more powerful than any military or psychological weapon." Source: National News Agency - Lebanon
