Caretaker Minister of Information, Ziad Makary, on Thursday pointed out that 'no one knows where we will reach in the war in the south,' stressing that 'the government is conducting a major diplomatic effort to neutralize Lebanon, and until this moment we have not reached our goal.' Minister Makary said in an interview with the 'Beirut Program' on MTV channel: 'I asked for a clear official position through correspondence with about 30 countries regarding the deliberate Israeli killing of journalists on Lebanese soil, and I received only 3 responses.' The Minister pointed out that "the crisis that Lebanon went through undermined all state institutions, which forced the citizen to become accustomed to the alternative. This is a very bad thing and requires time to be resolved." In response to a question, Minister Makary said: 'Those who oppose the nomination of former Minister Sleiman Franjieh should kindly nominate a name, because there is no clear candidate except him, and we believe that Frangieh is capabl e of finding solutions and it is not possible to have a president who is against Syria.'
