Caretaker Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Bassam Mawlawi, on Monday held a coordination meeting with governors at his ministry. Following the meeting, Mawlawi expressed condolences for the victims and wished for the swift recovery of the injured. "Lebanon is facing a difficult crisis with significant displacement impacting all regions,' Mawlawi stated, emphasizing the importance of daily communication with governors to address the challenges of displacement, which has spread beyond the south to areas like Akkar and the north. Furthermore, Mawlawi clarified that the financial advance provided to governors is intended for operational expenses, not for aiding displaced individuals. He requested the Higher Relief Commission to procure fuel in bulk to ensure warmth in shelters as winter approaches. Mawlawi also noted that the distribution of aid was the responsibility of municipalities, and he urged citizens to cooperate in maintaining security during this crisis.
