Muscat: The Medical City for Military and Security Services has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, Republic of Korea, as part of the visit of the Medical City's delegation to the Republic of Korea. According to Oman News Agency, the MoU was signed by Brig. Dr. Saleh Saud Al Abri, Director-General of the Medical City for Military and Security Services-Muscat, and Prof. Ji Youl Lee, President of Seoul St. Mary's Hospital. The signing of the MoU was in pursuance of the Medical City's efforts to consolidate its international partnerships and establish strategic links with global health institutions. The step aims to promote health services in the Sultanate of Oman and affirm the Medical City's status as a leading centre of excellence and innovation in healthcare services. The visit programme included a panel discussion titled 'The Future of Healthcare and Modern Technologies'. The session elaborated on the most prominent global trends in digital health transformation. It underscored the role of innovation and technology in developing systems of medical care. The discussion panel saw the participation of an elite group of specialists from the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Korea. The participants outlined their respective institutions' experiences in applying smart technologies and using artificial intelligence (AI) to upgrade the quality of health services. The Medical City's delegation went on tour of leading hospitals and medical centres in the Republic of Korea, including Samsung Medical Center and Asan University Hospital. It was briefed about the latest technologies and systems applied in Korean institutions. The two sides also explored opportunities for future cooperation in the fields of medical innovation, digital transition and advanced healthcare.
