Caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Friday met with a Kataeb party delegation, including MPs Nadim Gemayel and Elias Hankash. Hankash conveyed Party Leader Sami Gemayel's emphasis on the state's responsibility toward displaced persons and called for a true state built on new foundations, with an immediate ceasefire to relieve the suffering of Lebanese citizens. MP Jihad Al-Samad, who also had an audience with the PM addressed the challenges in his district, receiving 10,000 displaced persons. He urged a broader distribution of aid beyond shelters and requested government intervention to support host families. MP Wael Abou Faour also broached the latest developments with Mikati.
