Mikati: International efforts ongoing to halt Israeli aggression, despite obstacles

Caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Wednesday reaffirmed that international and Arab efforts to halt Israeli aggression on Lebanon continued, despite Israeli intransigence. He emphasized that Israel's pursuit of perceived military gains has stalled diplomatic progress. Addressing visitors, Mikati dismissed the notion that diplomatic initiatives had faltered, stressing ongoing contacts and pressure from Lebanon's allies to secure a ceasefire. The PM also underscored the need for the full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701, holding Israel accountable. Mikati then addressed the growing displacement crisis resulting from Israeli attacks, affirming that the government has mobilized resources to manage it, though challenges remain due to the large influx of displaced individuals. The Premiere further expressed gratitude to international partners for their swift humanitarian and political support, noting that such assistance is appreciated by the Lebanese people.
