Military Technological College Launches 7th Science Week with Regional Participation

Muscat:The Military Technological College inaugurated its 7th Science Week, hosted under the patronage of Dr. Ali bin Amer Al Shidhani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Communications and Information Technology.

According to Oman News Agency, the five-day event, themed 'Innovate, Secure and Develop', includes the participation of military institutions from Oman, GCC states, and other Arab countries. Brigadier Ahmed bin Khalfan Al Hadidi, Dean of the College, emphasized the event's role in enhancing cooperation between military and academic institutions, identifying talents, and transforming research into practical applications to boost the nation's technical capabilities.

The opening ceremony featured an orientation visual display that outlined the Science Week's key themes and objectives. It included lectures on "Cybersecurity challenges amid the evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI)" and the importance of a national system for developing cybersecurity competencies.

Additionally, a cooperation agreement was signed with ESBAAR Artificial Intelligence and Drones company to foster academic collaboration, research, student training, and joint projects. An exhibition was also opened, showcasing scientific projects, innovations, and modern technologies developed by students from various academic institutions and scientific clubs linked to military and security units.

The Science Week aims to encourage innovation, knowledge exchange, and student engagement in science and technology, supporting the national initiative towards digital transition.
