Tel Aviv - Ma'an - The Times of Israel newspaper reported that Mossad chief David Barnea informed the American side that any ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah in Lebanon must also include an agreement to release Israeli prisoners in Gaza. This comes at a time when Hezbollah has shown some flexibility towards any negotiations aimed at stopping the Israeli raids on Lebanon without linking that to the Gaza front. It now appears that Israel's strategy, if officially adopted, may aim to push Tehran and Hezbollah to exert additional pressure on Hamas political bureau chief Yahya Sinwar, in the hope of reaching an agreement to release prisoners held in Gaza.
