Muscat: The Health Endowment Foundation (Athar) and Sohar Islamic Bank today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance community partnerships aimed at developing the health endowments sector in the Sultanate of Oman. The collaboration is set to foster cooperation in promoting sustainable health initiatives and facilitate the exchange of expertise between the Islamic banking sector and the endowment sector.
According to Oman News Agency, the agreement outlines methods for providing technical and logistical support for health endowment projects, boosting joint health initiatives, and offering specialized training for Athar Foundation's employees. This MoU demonstrates a commitment from both parties to engage in joint efforts by forming a follow-up team dedicated to implementing approved initiatives while ensuring the protection of their rights and obligations throughout the execution of various projects.
The MoU is viewed as a progressive move towards formulating sustainable financing solutions that will not only benefit the community but also enhance the development of health services in Oman. The signing ceremony was attended by Fahad Akbar Al Zadjali, Head of Islamic Banking at Sohar Islamic Bank, and Reem Noor Al Zadjali, Member of the Board of Directors of Athar Health Endowment Foundation.
