MSX 30 Index Declines by 32 Points Amid Drop in Trading Value

Muscat: The Muscat Stock Exchange "MSX 30" index today closed at 7,571.40 points, marking a decline of 32.6 points or 0.428 percent from the previous session's close, which stood at 7,603.97 points.

According to Oman News Agency, the trading value experienced a significant drop, standing at RO 26,309,955. This represents a decrease of 19 percent from the RO 32,498,493 recorded in the last session. This decline is a key indicator of reduced market activity compared to the previous trading day.

Additionally, market capitalization saw a slight decrease of 0.239 percent, bringing the total down to approximately RO 38.28 billion. This shift suggests a contraction within the market, reflecting the overall downward trend witnessed in the MSX 30 index.

Non-Omani investors were active in the market, recording purchases worth RO 1.941 million, accounting for 7.38 percent of the total trading value. However, their sales reached RO 4.734 million, constituting 17.99 percent of the trading value. As a result, net non-Omani investment fell by RO 2.793 million, or 10.62 percent, indicating a withdrawal of foreign capital from the market.
