MSX 30 Index Falls by 73 Points Amidst Decline in Trading Value

Muscat: The Muscat Stock Exchange "MSX 30" index experienced a notable drop today, closing at 7,407.09 points. This marks a decline of 73.5 points, or 0.98 percent, from the previous session's close of 7,480.61 points.

According to Oman News Agency, the trading value reached RO 24,644,802, showing a decrease of 6.9 percent from the RO 26,480,621 recorded in the last session. This reduction in trading value reflects a broader trend of decreased market activity.

The market capitalization also saw a decline, slipping by 0.427 percent from the previous trading day to approximately RO 37.89 billion. The decrease in market capitalization indicates a reduction in the overall value of shares traded on the exchange.

Non-Omani investors were active in the market, recording purchases worth RO 2.146 million, which constituted 8.71 percent of the total trading value. However, their sales amounted to RO 3.879 million, or 15.74 percent of the total. As a result, the net non-Omani investment fell by RO 1.733 million, representing a 7.03 percent decrease.
