Al buraimi: Activities of the National Week for Science, Technology and Engineering and Mathematics Week (STEM) kicked off today in Al Buraimi Governorate. The event, observed in the governorate's three wilayats, sees the participation of representatives of government departments, private sector establishments, Al Buraimi College, and Al Buraimi University.
According to Oman News Agency, the opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Saif Hamad Al Abdali, Director General of Education in Al Buraimi Governorate. The event aims to raise public awareness, motivate students to learn science, engineering, and technological skills, and help all keep pace with global trends in the fields.
The week's activities elaborate on a wide range of dual domains, including energy and sustainable technologies, environmental science and biodiversity, space and aviation, natural resources and wealth, food sciences and agricultural technologies, education and digital transition, environmental sustainability and urban planning, industry and modern technologies, health sciences and medical technologies, future technologies, and climate change.
The National Week for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics is one of the leading initiatives undertaken by the Ministry of Education. It constitutes a platform to engage teachers and support students and all those interested in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The event seeks to promote cooperation with government departments and private sector establishments and to ensure that all students, teachers, and other segments of society have access to scientific knowledge in an interactive manner.
