NIHR: social media claims of force used at Jau Rehabilitation Centre unfounded

Manama In response to social media reports alleging the use of force in a building at the Jau Rehabilitation Centre, the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) conducted an unannounced visit to verify these claims. NIHR's on-site inspections revealed no basis for these allegations. They urged the public to ensure accuracy in sharing information and to rely on trustworthy sources to prevent the spread of rumours that could negatively impact inmates' families and violate individuals' rights. NIHR reaffirmed its commitment to monitoring conditions in rehabilitation facilities and intensifying efforts to protect and promote the rights of inmates. Source: Bahrain News Agency
