North Al Batinah Governorate Achieves Milestone in Fruit Tree Cultivation

Muscat: The Directorate General of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources in North Al Batinah Governorate reported successful cultivation of fruit trees across 175 acres in 2025. This initiative has been instrumental in enhancing food security and introducing new fruit varieties while providing essential support to local farmers. According to Oman News Agency, the project marks a significant stride towards fulfilling the goals set by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources. Eng. Said bin Mohammed Al Adawi, Director of the Agricultural Development Department, emphasized the project's role in transforming agricultural lands into economically viable farms. He highlighted that the project not only boosts local market supplies with quality national products but also encourages the adoption of modern farming systems. Al Adawi also noted the importance of technical guidance and advanced technologies provided to farmers, which have been crucial to the project's success. This initiative unders cores the strategic commitment to developing the local fruit production sector and supporting farmers in North Al Batinah Governorate.
