OCCI Reviews Activities of Sectoral Committees.


Muscat: Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) today reviewed the tasks entrusted to sectoral committees during the current year (2024). The discussion took place during a meeting held under the chairmanship of Faisal Abdullah Al Rawas, Chairman of OCCI Board of Directors, in the presence of the Second Deputy Chairman of the OCCI, members of the Board of Directors, heads of sectoral committees and the CEO of the Chamber.

According to Oman News Agency, the meeting included a presentation featuring the progress made in the sectoral committees’ achievement of their plans, the performance of the OCCI and the extent to which this performance met the aspirations of the private sector. The meeting covered a number of topics undertaken by the sectoral committees and the challenges facing the growth and sustainability of businesses in the Sultanate of Oman, including low demand.

The participants looked into mechanisms and initiatives that influence demand and the growth of consumption in the Sultanate of Oman.
Emphasis was laid on the significance of developing innovative products that keep pace with the government’s approach to upgrade local content. In this context, the meeting reviewed an initiative introduced by the National Programme for Investment and Exports Development (Nazdaher) and mechanisms for supporting entrepreneurs and startups across various economic sectors.
