Oil Minister Participates in ADIPEC 2024 Roundtable Discussions.

Abu Dhabi: Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Dainah, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, participated in two key roundtable discussions on the sidelines of the ADIPEC 2024 Exhibition and Conference in Abu Dhabi. The discussions centered around the challenges and innovations in the global energy sector, with a focus on market stability, energy security, and emission reduction. According to Bahrain News Agency, the first roundtable, titled "Fostering market stability, maintaining energy security and reducing emissions with technological innovation," addressed economic challenges and the latest advancements in energy technologies impacting global energy supply. The second roundtable, "Energy transition, AI and the role of emerging economies," explored the impact of artificial intelligence in enhancing sustainable practices within emerging economies. Dr. Bin Dainah emphasized Bahrain's commitment to engaging in international conferences to gather insights that would support initiat ives aimed at achieving carbon neutrality, reducing emissions, and increasing the adoption of renewable energy. He discussed the dual challenge faced by the energy sector in maintaining hydrocarbon production while also reducing carbon intensity and investing in renewable energy sources. Furthermore, Dr. Bin Dainah highlighted the importance of international cooperation and innovation in areas such as carbon capture and hydrogen technology to address climate change. On the sidelines of ADIPEC 2024, he also met with Dr. Angela Wilkinson, Secretary General and CEO of the World Energy Council, and Mark Thomas, Group CEO of Bapco Energies. The minister praised the World Energy Council's efforts in promoting innovative solutions to energy challenges and fostering policies for clean energy and CO2 emission reduction. Dr. Wilkinson, in turn, outlined key initiatives by the council aimed at advancing creative energy solutions and investment opportunities in renewable energy projects globally.
