Muscat: The 8th session of the Joint Omani-Bahraini Committee was held here today under the chairmanship of Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, and Dr. Abdullatif Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain. In his speech, Sayyid Badr stated that the meeting reflects the depth of fraternal relations between Oman and Bahrain and contributes to enhancing cooperation opportunities in various fields. According to Oman News Agency, Sayyid Badr emphasized the significant advancement in economic relations between the two countries. Trade exchange until August 2024 reached RO 118 million, with joint investments growing in infrastructure, tourism, logistic services, industry, and the banking sector. He highlighted the importance of continuing efforts to boost strategic partnerships and explore new horizons for mutual benefits. Dr. Abdullatif Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, expressed his appreciation for the reception by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. He praised the ongoing political cooperation between Oman and Bahrain and noted that their collaboration includes coordination and consultations on regional and international issues. This cooperation, he affirmed, strengthens efforts to support regional peace and stability. At the conclusion of the session, the two ministers signed the minutes of the meeting of the 8th session of the joint Omani-Bahraini committee. The session was attended by key officials from both countries, including Khalid Hashel Al Muslehi, Sheikh Ahmed Hashel Al Maskri, and Sayyid Faisal Harib Al Busaidi from the Omani side, and Hamad Faisal Al Malki and Dr. Juma Ahmed Al Kaabi from the Bahraini side.
