Mogadishu: Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, today welcomed Eng. Said Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology of Oman, and his accompanying delegation in Mogadishu. The meeting signified a step towards strengthening the already robust relations between the two nations.
According to Oman News Agency, Minister Al Maawali conveyed greetings from His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to President Dr. Hassan, along with wishes for good health and happiness. In response, President Dr. Hassan extended his heartfelt sentiments to His Majesty the Sultan, expressing best wishes for the wellbeing of the Omani people and their continued progress.
The discussions highlighted the deep-rooted relations between Oman and Somalia and emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation across various sectors. On the sidelines of the visit, a session of talks was convened with the Somali side, focusing on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and explore investment opportunities.
The session was attended by Somalia's Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Fardowsa Osman Egal??, Minister of Ports and Marine Transport, Mahmoud Aden Geesood, and several other Somali officials. The Omani delegation included Eng. Khamis Mohammed Al Shamakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technology, alongside officials from various Omani ministries and entities such as the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, and Oman Investment Authority, among others.
