Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the State Council and the Shura Council, participated in the 47th meeting of the Association of Secretaries-General of Arab Parliaments. This meeting was conducted via video conferencing on the sidelines of the 39th Conference of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union.
According to Oman News Agency, the meeting was themed 'Activating Research and Information Centers to Rationalize Parliamentary Decision-making and Improve Legislative Performance.' Khalid Ahmed Al Saadi, Secretary-General of the State Council, and Sheikh Ahmed Mohammed Al Nadabi, Secretary-General of the Shura Council, represented Oman.
The meeting addressed various organizational and administrative topics on the agenda, aiming to enhance the continuity of institutional work and achieve the Association's objectives in supporting and developing joint Arab parliamentary action. Participants reviewed several parliamentary experiences related to the main theme through specialized working papers, with the goal of enhancing the role of research and information centers in parliamentary work, rationalizing the decision-making process, and developing the legislative and oversight performance of Arab councils and parliaments.
