New york: The Sultanate of Oman is actively participating in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, which is taking place from 22-28 September. The focus of the session is on addressing major global issues and challenges, as well as promoting international cooperation to reinforce peace, security, and sustainable development.
According to Oman News Agency, the Omani delegation is led by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister. The session is attended by leaders, heads of government, foreign ministers, and representatives from various member states. This meeting occurs during a critical period marked by escalating global crises, conflicts, and challenges relating to politics, the economy, humanitarian concerns, and climate change, alongside ongoing regional tensions impacting international security and stability.
In this context, Oman maintains a diplomatic stance centered on dialogue and understanding. The country advocates for peaceful and political resolutions, respecting international law and the United Nations Charter. This approach aims to mitigate tensions and foster conditions conducive to resolving crises through diplomacy, avoiding conflict escalation.
