Doha: Represented by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology and the Cyber Defence Center, the Sultanate of Oman participated in the third meeting of the GCC Cybersecurity Ministerial Committee, which convened in Doha. Oman's delegation to the meeting was headed by Dr. Ali Amer Al Shidhani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Communications and Information Technology. According to Oman News Agency, the meeting reviewed the GCC Cybersecurity Strategy and the launch of a platform for sharing cyber-threat information in member states. The Committee acknowledged Oman's efforts in organizing the 1st GCC Hackathon for Cybersecurity Industry Development on 9 September 2024, and the country's role in hosting the Regional Cybersecurity Week from 28 to 31 October 2024 in Muscat. Al Shidhani emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation, noting that it would positively impact the augmentation of cybersecurity levels within member states.
